U of Calgary recruiter at Yale- Thursday Sept 15, 2:45 pm (E107). A recruiter will be at Yale to discuss the University of Calgary and all entrance requirements and programs

Post-Secondary Night (PSI night) – Thursday September 22th- 6:30 pm at Yale.......Recruiters from UFV, SFU, U Vic, Thompson Rivers, Kwantlen Polytechnic, BCIT, Armed Forces ….. and many others will be at Yale to help you make decisions about possible post-secondary choices……bring your parents

UFV applications open – October 1. UFV processes applications by the date the application is received …… it is best to apply early to make sure you get a seat in the UFV program you want

Grad Parent night – Tuesday October 4 (7:00pm) in the gym- important information for your parents – volunteering for grad events, overview of your graduation year and scholarship opportunities

Scholarship Overview –Wednesday October 5, at lunch (Studio Theatre) …. overview of scholarship opportunities for students- the types of scholarships and due dates will be explained. Be prompt.

Brittany Palmer Scholarship workshop- October 13h (6:00-7:30 pm in Studio Theatre)  Brittany will explain how to apply for scholarships and give advice on what to do to help win scholarships. This workshop is for both parents and students.

District Authority Award Project Deadline – Friday October 14, This award recognizes skill in non-academic areas. Students demonstrate their skill by producing a significant project and then presenting it in May. Information is available in the Counseling Centre or on Yale’s website.

UBC visit to Yale - UBC recruiters will be at Yale on Wednesday November 2 at 7:00pm in the library- your parents are welcome to attend.

University of Albera…a recruiter will be at Yale on Wednesday November 16 at 2:45-3:45pm in the library.

McGill University – a recruiter will be at Yale Monday November 21,  2:45-3:45 pm in the library.

APPLYING TO UNIVERSITIES - counselors recommend that you apply to post-secondary institution(s) before the Christmas Holidays-apply online using the website Education Planner BC for all BC institutions or go directly to the university website (remember, UFV accepts applications Oct 1-apply soon if you want to go)

SAT prep and test  dates  - SAT test dates at Yale are Saturday Dec 3 and Saturday June 3- to register you need to go to the College Board website https://sat.collegeboard.org/register (spots are limited-register early)
